Provence is so many things to so many people. I especially love Provence in the early summer when the lavender heightens the already vibrant colour of the landscape – to me this setting stimulates our senses. You hear the cicadas when you walk it. You can go crazy when you paint it – and cooking, well you are in for a treat – one of the very best ways to get to know the Provençial is to learn their cooking.
You will have the choice to either join the painting classes held by our own Artist/Instructor, Henry Vyfvinkel or join the daytrip walks with Debbie in the countryside..
We will visit, walk, or paint – the fountains of Aix-en-Provence, and Mt Ste Victoire in the steps of Cezanne, the Place du Forum and the Arena of Arles where Van Gogh and Gaugin lived in the 'little yellow house', the famous blue of the Mediterranean from Cassis, and the villages of the Luberon all secret until the book “A Year In Provence”.
Our cooking class will be held by Marc Heracle of 'Les Cuisines du Sud' which he orchestrates in the oh so charming kitchen and dining room of the 17th century chateau in a small village just outside of Aix-en-Provence.
We will spend 7 nights in a charming 3-star hotel right in the centre of the ancient Roman spa town of Aix-en-Provence.
