Join us on this wonderful 14 day escorted tour:
We begin our tour program discovering the treasures of Burgundy countryside and the famous wineries (Mersault, Pommard, Clos de Vougeot etc.) Our accommodation is the stately, charming and comfortable 4-star HOTEL de la POSTE in Beaune. We then board the deluxe 51 passenger barge "ANACOLUTHE" for a six day cruise from the Chablis region of Burgundy on the Yonne River to the Seine and along the Seine through beautiful countryside and medieval towns to Paris and on to Bougival. We visit famous sights such as Auxerre, Barbizon, & Claude Monet's house and garden at Giverny. We then spend two nights in 'the city of light' - PARIS.

Burgundy bears a heritage unparalleled in the history of France. The historic treasures found throughout this region are a testimony to its alluring past as the richest of the ancient Duchies. However, for all its ancient fame and riches, Burgundy still feels simple and rustic. Although Burgundy wines are rated amongst the best in France, it is also celebrated as a kingdom of French gastronomy. Burgundy fascinates with its medieval villages and history-filled towns, deep forests and extensive vineyards. All in all, Burgundy is warm and welcoming with the pleasures of the table in perfect harmony with its beautiful countryside.

The Anacoluthe, barge cruise offers a different view of the French countryside. We cruise along beside riverbanks lined with ancient villages, stately homes, and verdant forests. The barge cruises for about half the day at approximately 4 miles an hour, the other half of the day we are taken on excursions in some of the most interesting sights such as the Fontainbleau forest, Barbizon, Moret sur Loing, and the Chateau Veau le Vicomte. We enjoy three meals a day - lunches and dinners are gourmet and both include excellent regional wines. The barge stays tied up a night so it's possible to take a stroll after a satisfying dinner in a new town each night. This past year we found the atmosphere relaxed, friendly, and comfortable. Our cabins all had very comfortable twin beds and of course private facilities.

Paris - 'the city of light' no matter how many times you have been before, there is always something new to discover in this wonderful city - we think it's the perfect way to end a tour. - Please read over our detailed Day by Day Itinerary - we hope you will come along !
